The usage of jewelry served to many aims until today. Sometimes jewelry were used as an symbol of power and richness and sometimes a symbol to protect their owners from harm. Sometimes jewelry were used as an object to show our status or sometimes they were used as acessories. It is certain that jewelry usage today is just fort o be seen beautiful. When we look at the ancient times we see that jewellries were hidden as material richness. Besides richness jewelries are given to each other before marriage in Turkey. For example in an Turkish society when the boy and his family goes to the girls home to want permission for marriage they give some jewellery to the women as an present. 

Jewellery also can be an symbol of an related of an group or religion. For example Christian use Cross Jewelry, Hebrews use hexagram jewelry, Muslims use jewelleries written god or jewelries in Arabic letters. Also jewelry could be symbol of marriage, engagement .
